Financial Aid

Wye River Upper School maintains a robust financial aid program using an online service, ISM’s Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST), to process financial aid applications. FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service that includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. Results are reviewed by Wye River Upper School’s Financial Aid Committee which makes recommendations to the Head of School based on next year's budget.

Financial Aid is currently reserved for high school students and is, at this time, unavailable to students entering 8th grade.

There are precedents for tax deductions in the event of a medically proscribed need for the type of education we provide. Families may benefit from tax deductions as WRUS’s tuition and any related educational costs, including transportation, are considered medical expenses which can be combined with all other household medical expenses for tax purposes. For information on claiming tuition as a medical deduction, please refer to the IRS Code CCH Section 2019.0127, as well as IRS Ruling 69-607at 2CB40.  Wye River Upper School cannot provide tax advice.  This situation should be discussed with your tax advisor.
